Terahertz technology leader TeraView announced that it has raised $6 million in funding from Wonik Investment Partners and Pathfinder H in Korea, and Ingenious in the UK, among others.

With additional capital from existing as well as new investors, this latest round of investment bolsters the confidence that TeraView has from its investors.  TeraView has announced that the latest acquired capital will be used to further accelerate product and technology development, customer support, and sales and marketing.

Founded in 2001 by Dr. Don Arnone, Ph.D. (CEO) and Sir Michael Pepper (CSO), a globally recognized and eminent scholar in this field, Teraview is a spin-out from Toshiba Corporation and Cambridge University that applies terahertz technology to provide solutions in various industries.  As a pioneer in its field, TeraView holds proprietary technology across numerous markets, from fault analysis and quality assurance in the semiconductor industry to, but not restricted to, inspection of high value coatings used in the automotive, pharmaceutical, food, and solar industries.

“The follow-on investment from Nordson DAGE, coupled with new corporate investors such as Wonik Investment Partners in Korea, underscore the level of interest from industry in TeraView’s technology and solutions that we provide to our customers in our core markets,” said Dr. Don Arnone, Chief Executive Officer and co-founder.  “Support from new financial investors such as Pathfinder H in Korea, and Ingenious in London further demonstrate the global appeal of TeraView’s business to investors.”

Headquartered in Cambridge, England, TeraView’s business spans from Asia to North America and Europe.  It provides spectrometer and imaging solutions, with the advantage of terahertz light technology being that it is non-invasive, non-destructive, safe, and fast.  TeraView is actively researching applications in various other fields.
