"The Eighth-Generation Model Comes in Three Variants, Including a Pure Electric Version"
The new BMW 5 Series, marking its first full model change in six years, is set to make its global debut in South Korea next month. Excluding China where the cars are locally produced, South Korea is the largest market for German-made BMW 5 Series worldwide.
BMW Korea announced that it will begin accepting pre-orders for the eighth-generation new 5 Series on 'BMW Shop Online' from September 4th, ahead of its official release in October. The new BMW 5 Series represents the first complete overhaul since 2017 and comes in three variants: gasoline, diesel, and pure electric.
The internal combustion engine models are equipped with a new engine featuring a 48V mild hybrid technology. The New 520i delivers a maximum output of 190 horsepower and maximum torque of 31.6 kg·m while the New 530i generates a maximum output of 258 horsepower and maximum torque of 40.8 kg·m. The pure electric model, New i5 M60 xDrive (four-wheel drive), boasts two electric motors with a combined maximum output of an impressive601 horsepower and top torque at approximately81.1 kg·m.
With an enlarged body compared to its predecessor, interior space has also expanded significantly. Two displays measuring at12.3 inches and14.9 inches have been fitted onto the dashboard area in front of the steering wheel while adding further touch elegance by introducing crystal design interaction bar (illuminated warnings on dashboard) which was previously featured on their upper model - New7 series.
