The Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy (MTIE) announced that it will operate the Design Korea Pavilion at Maison & Objet, held from September 7th to 11th, in order to promote the excellence of K-design internationally and facilitate global market entry.
Maison & Objet is the world's largest trade fair for consumer goods and interior design, with participation from over 2,500 brands representing more than 60 countries. The Design Korea Pavilion will showcase around 100 design products from 33 Korean companies that exemplify the superiority of K-design. Located in Hall 2 of the Paris Nord Villepinte Exhibition Center, the pavilion will also offer a buyer matching program in collaboration with KOTRA (Korea Trade-Investment Promotion Agency) and trade associations.
Notable participating companies include Goober, a design stationery brand; Rhetoric, which presents modern interpretations of patterned rugs; LAB M ZERO, an eco-friendly brand offering stationery items such as notebooks, trays, and tumblers made from alternative plastics and bio-materials; and ZMINTL, known for developing the innovative "Formfora Wagon," the world's first stroller-style wagon.
The MTIE stated its plans to continue supporting Korean design companies by enabling their participation in other prestigious international exhibitions such as Salone del Mobile Milano (Milan Furniture Fair), Ambiente in Germany, and Canton Fair in China. By providing ongoing support for Korean design enterprises on global stages like Maison & Objet, they aim to help these companies thrive in overseas markets while showcasing their world-class designs.
